Within the framework of the UNICRI activities in the field of the Public Information, the incumbent will be performing the following duties,
-Gather and edit content on UNICRI projects and initiatives from program staff.
-Assist in proofreading and editing of public information material to ensure the highest quality of standard is met.
-Assist in structuring the content in different formats.
-Conduct picture sourcing and caption writing.
-Assist in drafting press releases and speeches.
-Assist in preparation of the Magazine Freedom From Fear (F3).
-assist in translation and summarizing of documents to/from UN official languages, particularly, English, Arabic and French.
-Perform other job-related duties.
-Speaks and writes clearly and effectively.

-Tailors language, tone, style and format to match the audience.

To qualify for consideration for an internship by the UNICRI Internship Programme, applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
a.Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b.Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c.Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
For the advertised post, the preferable fields of education are: translation & interpreting; linguistics (preferably, English); communication; public relations; media, or a similar related field.
Additionally, applicants shall:
-Be computer literate in standard software applications.
-Have a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
-Have ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.
Prior working experience in translation, editing or publishing shall considered an asset.
